A Dedicated Family of Chefs

We’ve been creating delicious food for over 25 years

From Humble Beginnings

Mattie Louise in 1943, at the age of 12, worked for the Hattaway Family in Dublin, GA, washing dishes, cleaning house and other chores that were needed around the house.  The Hattaway Family felt she was doing such a great job in the house that she was given an opportunity to work in the family restaurant to learn how to cook and bake.  Mattie Louise started out as a dishwasher then was given a chance to follow recipes to cook and bake in this family business.  Once she learned the art of cooking and baking, she was given the responsibility to bake all desserts and cook as needed.  Mattie Louise worked for this family business well over 15 years starting out as a dishwasher, turn baker, then supervisor of the entire kitchen until her departure to Florida at the age of 28.  Mattie Louise not having an opportunity to fulfill her dream to open a restaurant became a bus driver until her retirement, but her love for cooking and baking was still her passion.  Mattie’s love for cooking and baking was perfected over these years as she cooked and baked for her local church, any events that needed a Southern flair and for those that just wanted to purchase and partake of her delectable desserts and savory meals.

Mattie Louise is still cooking and baking today!  She is still putting smiles on faces of children or families that may be in need.  Mattie Louise is still wowing her guest with her Southern flair of cooking and baking, when needed, for church and other events that need good home cooking!

Our Love for Food

Meet Mattie Louise’s kids, a veteran owned and operated business ran by her daughter Brenda (Little Mattie), Peter, son-in-law, and grandsons Brandon and Justin the faces of Mattie’s were food has been a passion in this family for many years.

We believe that our mom, Mattie Louise, love for cooking and baking has been a big part of our family gatherings, passing family recipes down from one generation to the next for all to enjoy and we honor her passion for cooking and baking by sharing it with you.

We also share her passion for community service for those that may be struggling and or going through difficulty.  We have been involved in numerous charitable events, but one organization that we are proud to be associated with is the Sharing Center in Longwood, FL where they provide their guest with our desserts. We have also been a partner in education for six years in and around the Seminole County area to help students to strive.

Mattie’s was featured in the Spring 2016 magazine called the Knot a wedding publication for brides looking for vendors to celebrate their special day.
